Dar Essaada is open all year round. Some services and activities are seasonal. This list is not exhaustive — we add new services and facilities regularly. Enjoy your visit!

With 340 days of sunshine a year, an average temperature of 26°C (a few degrees warmer inland) and no pollution whatsoever, this culturally vibrant city — known as the City of Trade Winds — has become Morocco’s capital for wellbeing retreats and residential courses. Internationally renowned teachers and practitioners run sessions here throughout the year, across every discipline you can think of.

At Dar Essaada we are fortunate to have a setting perfectly suited to all of these activities. We have several spaces able to accommodate groups of up to 32 people in comfort: a very large garden with its quiet corners and its stream, a pool heated all year round with step-free access and a 20-metre lap lane, a traditional hammam, a spa, a massage room, a large part-shaded terrace, and an exceptional roof terrace looking out over the surrounding countryside and the first foothills of the Atlas. Most recently we have added a 120 m² space under a beldi tent, fitted out to welcome up to 60 people.

OUR SERVICES

GOOD FOOD!

Across our different dining areas — the patio, the dining room, the private lounge, the part-shaded terrace and the poolside — you will enjoy unpretentious but flavourful cooking: Moroccan of course, but Mediterranean too, with regular detours to Spain, Provence and Greece. We buy locally wherever we can. Some of our vegetables come from our own organic kitchen garden, and we collect the eggs from our henhouse every morning. Here, the freezer is used for one thing only: our homemade ice cream. Cookery classes with our chef Fatiha are also available. Do make the most of them! Finally, a range of Moroccan regional produce is available in our gourmet kiosk: argan oil, olive oil, organic jams and more.

GOOD FUN!

You are spoilt for choice. Our heated pool has a secure area for little ones, a generous sun deck with loungers, and alcoves for lunch. There is a pétanque court, and various spaces for football, footvolley, badminton and cricket. Indoors, a TV lounge with a fireplace, half a dozen reading corners, a spot for chess players and another for darts enthusiasts. We regularly host live music (Gnaoua, African and more), a magician who will genuinely baffle you, and an astronomer who will let you in on the secrets of the night sky. Every month we also welcome local painters, sculptors and craftspeople.

TIME TO RECHARGE!

Myriam and her team are waiting for you in the massage room, where you will discover all the benefits of Berber massage and beauty treatments. They also offer hairdressing for men and women, and acupuncture. What would Morocco be without its hammam? Ours is beldi — traditional — and heated with argan wood. Treatments and ghassoul clay scrubs are available. Try our yoga and Pilates sessions, or aquagym (booking required). Our roof terrace and its solarium are also yours to use, for meditation or simply to take in one of the finest starry skies in Morocco.

TIME TO EXPLORE!

Discover Berber country and its people. Visit a women's cooperative where the famous argan oil is produced. Taste wine at the only vineyard in the Essaouira region. Follow the salt route on a road trip between mountains and ocean. Sample amlou and honey on a working Berber farm. The list goes on. We will tell you what is worth seeing — and what to skip. We are the best tourist office you will find here. Need a vehicle? We can arrange your transfers to the town centre or the airport, and book car hire at very reasonable rates. Ask us for the moon and we will find a way to reach it.

TIME FOR FRESH AIR!

On foot, on horseback or camel, by quad bike or SSV buggy, on the water (kitesurfing, surfing, paddleboarding, windsurfing…), fishing from the shore or out at sea, a guided tour of the medina, a picnic on the beach, a night in a luxury lodge camp… Tell us what you fancy and we will turn it into your finest memories. Worth knowing: we have personally tested and vetted every one of our partners. Their activities are fully legal — operating licences, up-to-date professional insurance, and qualified guides and instructors.
